Wednesday Afternoon Curling

If you have some open time on Wednesday afternoons we have a great offer for you!
Come to the club for a game (or two) of Sturling!
This opportunity is open to all club members, including social members.

Sturling is a great game for working on your curling without the sweeping.
Some details of the game:
– two people per team
– a game is 6 ends and takes about one hour
– each curler stays at on end of the rink for the whole game
– each player throws 6 rocks per end

If you have someone (a spouse or relative, a friend or neighbour) that you would like to play with, you can play as a team each week.  Or,  you can also come as a single and teams will be formed at the club.  There will be two draw times: 1pm and 2:30pm – you can play at either or both times.  Coffee, tea and ? will be available between draws and after the second draw.

As was mentioned,  all ACC members are eligible to play. In addition,  if you know someone who might be interested in learning about our game – please bring them with you!  Sturling is a great intro to the game (rock throwing and game strategy and terminology) without the concerns sometimes felt with going up and down the ice when sweeping.

We will be running pick-up games through the rest of January. For February, we are considering a Sturling  “Bonspiel” or tournament for a bit of light competition.

As a result of the introduction of Wednesday curling there will no longer be Thursday afternoon curling.

If you have any questions or suggestions, contact Butch at 519-422-3276 or Neil – rourke.nd@gmail.com
